ICY Couture's luxury mirror and matte metallic finishes are engineered to replicate the appearance of 24K gold, rose gold, chrome, and other premium metals — without using expensive raw gold or traditional electroplating.

ICY Couture uses a proprietary multi-step metallic finishing process. Components are disassembled, stripped and prepped, cleaned, primed with professional base layers, finished with the selected mirror or matte metallic coating, and sealed with a protective topcoat.

This process is designed to create a smooth, high-end gold-plated look, chrome look, rose gold look, or other metallic finish while supporting durability under normal professional use.

This is not traditional real-gold electroplating, which can scratch or wear with prolonged use depending on handling and conditions. ICY Couture uses an exclusive, multi-step metal coating process that produces a high-end metallic finish designed to visually match 24K gold, rose gold, chrome, and other luxury metals in both mirror and matte finishes.

This method allows for precise color control, consistent results, and long-term durability while maintaining a refined luxury appearance.

Clients may choose between mirror (high-gloss) or matte (satin) finishes. Available metallic looks include 24K gold, rose gold, chrome, rhodium, copper, brass, bronze, white, pink and custom color-matched finishes upon request.

ICY Couture can apply a custom metallic finish to the microphone grille only, also commonly called the mic grille or microphone head.

Although the grille is a smaller part, it is one of the most delicate and labor-intensive microphone components to finish. The grille has a fine mesh structure with many small openings, so the original coating needs to be carefully removed, the surface must be professionally prepared, and multiple base layers must be applied so the finish lays evenly without clogging the mesh.

The final metallic finish also requires a protective topcoat for durability, applied carefully so the grille openings remain clear and the microphone’s acoustic performance is not affected.

Because of the extra preparation, precision, and risk involved, grille-only finishing is priced higher than its size may suggest.

When performed by ICY Couture’s experienced technicians, the metallic finishing process is cosmetic and designed not to interfere with microphone sound quality or performance. Microphone grilles and internal components require careful handling, proper preparation, and controlled application to avoid clogging, buildup, or interference.

This is why we recommend having this type of finish done by professionals familiar with microphone components and performance-sensitive areas.

You may send in your own microphone and/or mic stand, or choose to order new equipment through us directly on this product page.

If you select the option to order a new microphone, we default to the Shure BLX2/PG58 Wireless Handheld Microphone Transmitter (H10 Band). If you prefer a different microphone model, simply let us know — pricing will be adjusted based on the current market price of that microphone.

If you need us to order a mic stand, we typically source K&M brand mic stands. You may also send your own stand if you have a specific model or preference.

ICY Couture specializes in gold-plated look and chrome-style metallic finishes for microphones and mic stands, but our process is also compatible with other stage, performance, film, music video props and auto accessories.
